Pro category fields and prompts

Fields and prompts

• A field holds a value, such as a date or quantity. A prompt is the label beside that value.

Create or edit a category

1. Open the category editor, then find Fields and prompts. Pro is required.

Rename and arrange fields

• With Pro, open Fields and prompts to rename standard labels or add your own fields.
• Names allow up to 40 characters.
• Untick Displayed? to hide optional fields; essential fields stay visible.
• Hidden values are retained.
• Use the arrows to order standard and custom fields together.

Custom fields

• Standard field types cannot be changed.
• On Android, choose + Add column. On the web, choose + Add column. Enter its displayed name and choose its entry type.
• Custom fields can be mandatory or optional, with whole number, decimal (two places), short text (200 characters), long text (4,000 characters), date or time.
• A hidden mandatory field does not block saving.

Keep your data

• Changes apply to Things, Parts and Contents using this category, including editing, details and printing.
• Without Pro, standard labels and fields return; your settings and saved custom values remain.

Save

1. Save keeps the category changes; Cancel discards them.

Your language and your labels

• Interface language belongs to each user or device. Custom field names remain exactly as you type them.
